Barclay Planning Group began serving clients in 1995 offering a wide range of pension administration services including plan design, implementation, record keeping, plan termination, preparation and filing of governmental forms, and consulting on retirement-related issues.

The most important behavior we engage in is listening to our clients to gain an understanding of their unique circumstances, challenges, and objectives.  We don’t offer “cookie-cutter” service packages that we try to shoehorn people inside.  Instead, we tailor services for maximum impact and value based on what we learn during the important interactive information sharing process.  Our clients have taught us the value to listen to them enabling their receipt of focused personalized attention, consistency in our team, timely services with relevant responses and information flow, fostering efficiency and profit optimization generating a value-added relationship.

Certainly, we perform all the traditional TPA firm services, but not in the traditional way.  We structure all of our activities within the context of what will yield the most effective insights and support the overall objectives.  We understand third party verification and reporting services are often viewed as a necessity rendering, not enough “substantive” value.  By structuring these functions with the perspective of knowing client goals and challenges, we routinely uncover valuable insights that support overall strategies.

Barclay Planning Group History

Barclay Planning Group was founded in 1995 to serve business owners frustrated with the increasing complexity of compliance requirements from the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor. Our Certified Public Accountants were able to manage these requirements, determine potential exposure, and provide proactive solutions to help our client’s plans and businesses run more efficiently. Over the last 20 plus years, Barclay Planning Group has steadily grown through word of mouth referrals and providing extraordinary service to our clients and networking partners.

  • 1993

    Initial business plan research for Barclay Planning Group begins.

  • 1995

    Barclay Planning Group opens to begin serving the needs of clients as a Third Party Administrator.

  • 2005

    Barclay Planning Group affiliates with The American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). Carolyn Jones becomes the first Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) at Barclay.

  • 2012

    Barclay Planning Group opens office in Novi, Michigan.

  • 2015

    Barclay Planning Group opens office in Boca Raton, Florida.

  • 2016

    Barclay Planning Group expands service offerings by adding actuarial capabilities and defined benefit plans.
